Estimating Project Manager

As an Estimator/Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our Miscellaneous metals projects by doing estimates from start to finish. Your expertise will ensure that we deliver accurate and competitive bids, while also maintaining a strong focus on cost control and project management. You’ll collaborate with various teams to assess project requirements, and provide valuable insights that contribute to our overall strategy.

What you’ll do

- Estimate and sometimes go to the site to measure and estimate a stair and platform project or several other types of work we do.

- Step in and manage the office if I am gone away or on a job site.

- Conduct thorough analysis of project specifications, drawings, and other documents to identify potential risks and opportunities.

- Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable terms while maintaining quality standards.

- Monitor ongoing projects for cost control, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints throughout the construction phase.

- Provide mentorship and guidance to the shop foreman in my absence.

- Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies to enhance estimating practices and maintain competitive advantage.

Basic qualifications

- Proven experience in construction estimating with a solid understanding of construction management principles.

- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract negotiations.

- Familiarity with cost control measures and pricing strategies in the construction industry.

- Familiar with Miscellaneous metals projects for stairs and rails, structural steel and other types of fabrication and welding.

Preferred qualifications

- Experience using computers and email for estimating purposes.

- Hands-on experience in construction site environments, providing practical insights into project execution.

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
