Ready for your next step? In this role, you will have the opportunity to work as an integral member of the Glencore Canada Growth and Solutions Team. The Growth and Solutions Team exists to forward business and growth for all Glencore technologies through direct client and stakeholder engagement and the development of processing solutions based on proprietary technologies and processes. Reporting to the Senior Metallurgist, you will be responsible for training and supporting site teams with Jameson Cell test work completed on mine sties and in laboratories, commissioning technologies and supporting the senior solutions metallurgist and clients on planning and interpretation of test work. The Metallurgical Technician supports Glencore Technology’s proprietary solutions by delivering test work, commissioning, and technical services. This role serves as a bridge between clients, site teams, and the technical team to ensure accurate implementation and performance of our technologies.
More specifically, you will: Test work, commissioning & site support
Develop, manage, analyze, train and report on test work programs involving pilot rigs, laboratory and site-based work
Participate in commissioning programs, site audits, and technical evaluations.
Respond to client inquiries related to metallurgical processes.
Develop and maintain relationships with key technology alliance partners.
Provide remote and on-site support for Jameson Cell operations.
Provide support for Glencore operations as needed, including regional visits and best-practice initiatives.

Additionally, you will be required to maintain relationships with project stakeholders in the Americas (mining industry/operations).
Do you have the essential qualities?
+5 years experience on a mine site or at a laboratory operating flotation circuits
Experience with Jameson cell technology would be preferred
Additional experience in grinding, stirred milling, and hydrometallurgy is advantageous
Languages:
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
Travel: You are flexible to travel up to 60% within North America with additional opportunities to travel internationally.
Working Conditions:
Typically in an on-site office environment with some travel to client sites if required. Some irregular hours may be necessary as approved by the supervisor to achieve timely results on project deadlines
