Join our team as a skilled Mechanical Supervisor. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced leader with a solid background in mechanical services. DG Industrial has a full schedule of mechanical installations, structural steel and pressure piping work. Half the time of this position will be site work / away from base, within Saskatchewan. Occasional weekend work and overtime is applicable. Our shifts range between 8 hours, 10 hours and 12 hours.
* Journeyman / Journeyperson pipe fitter, welder or millwright or 10 + years’ experience in these trades.
* At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory role overseeing mechanical work, preferably in an industrial setting
* Oversee and manage a mixed team of trades – fitters, welders, and MW apprentices. * Provide guidance, support, and leadership to the team, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, project goals and deadlines, and quality standards. * Coordinate mechanical jobs and installation work, ensuring efficient use of manpower. * Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to ensure work is performed according to specifications and meets industry standards. * Collaborate with other site supervisors, project managers, and customer representatives to ensure effective communication and project coordination.
* Maintain a high standard of safety with your team. Ensure all measures meet or exceed regulatory requirements and safety is kept at the forefront. * Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance schedule completion.
* Train and mentor team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development. * Maintain accurate records of work orders, project progress, and employee performance.
* Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and standards.
* Proven experience leading and managing teams of trades persons.
* Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines. * Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on finding practical solutions. * Professional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with team members, managers, and customers.
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
* In-depth knowledge of mechanical services and equipment.
* Competent computer use including Word and Excel. * Demonstrated commitment to safety and knowledge of applicable safety regulations.
