SUMMARY
Provides technical support and direction to Fix It Now (FIN) personnel in performance of the maintenance or modification activities.
EDUCATION
- Associates degree in technical field. (Preferred)
- Without a degree, a graduate of a journeyman apprentice training program, equivalent military training, or 3 years’ experience in nuclear construction start-up or maintenance may be considered.
- Planner – minimum of 24 months related to Mechanical Maintenance (Required)
- 5 Years’ experience related to Mechanical Maintenance (Preferred)
- Equivalent military related experience (e.g., U. S. Navy Nuclear Power Program) may be considered.
- There is no Certification or Licensure Listed
- Develops, processes, and revises work packages for the performance of corrective, preventative maintenance, and modifications in support of Fix It Now (FIN) teamwork activities and Work Process milestones.
- Utilizes the Corrective Action Program (CAP) and Work Management System to provide quality documents, feedback process, and corrective actions; and provides organizational interface to resolve restraints.
SPECIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS
This posting position is for a Mechanical Discipline Planner. The areas of technical knowledge and skills include the theory, maintenance, and repair of but not limited to:
- Air Operated control valves and actuators
- Hydraulically operated control valves and actuators
- Manual operated globe, gate, ball & plug valves.
- Swing and lift check valves
- Spring type pressure safety and relief valves
- Vertical and horizontal single stage centrifugal pumps
- Vertical and horizontal multistage centrifugal pumps
- Piston and diaphragm type positive displacement pumps
- Cage type blowers
- Axial type fans
- Multi-vane HVAC dampers and ductwork
- Maintenance of tanks, pressure vessels and associated penetrations & manways
- Piping system component maintenance and fabrication
- Accept Outage position.
- Accept ERO position and be able to meet the response requirements.
- Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access if needed.
- Environmental and physical requirements are subject to crouching, stooping, bending, twisting and/or lifting up to 30 lbs; ascending/descending stairs; sitting for extended periods of time; and spending considerable time in front of computer monitors.
- Overtime and alternate work schedules as needed.
- Subject to callouts twenty-four hours per day seven days per week.
- Travel may be required.
- May be required to carry pager/phone.
- Due to the nature of the work, this position requires work to be performed in the field and/or at the work site.
