Job description: Responsibilities
•Actively participates (often leading) in the characterization, qualification, modeling, analysis, design, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and design reviews for new and existing mechanical designs
•Serves as a technical expert by coaching and developing other employees
•Creates and maintains best practices that incorporate Reliability, Health, Safety, and Environment concepts to guide others in analysis and design
•Communicates and collaborates with different groups including product management, regional tech advisors, and other technology teams, etc
•Publishing in patent applications, technical journals, and conferences
•Represents Halliburton in external professional societies and conferences such as API and ISO
Required Education and Skills
•Skills acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline and 10+ years of related experience
•Completion of a master's or doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred
•Depending on education, experience, and skill level, a variety of job opportunities might be available from the Advisor to Chief Mechanical Engineering
•Experience and strong interest in solving practical problems, from invention to implementation in the field
•Experience with SolidWorks (or similar 3D modeling) and product lifecycle management software
•Experience with engineering modeling tools, such as FEA and CFD, as well as applying physics-based principles, such as statics and dynamics
•Knowledge of materials and manufacturing techniques used to make downhole tool components
•An excellent publication and patent record consistent with experience
•Demonstrated teamwork, strong communication skills, and collaboration in complex engineering projects
