You have completed a BS in Engineering, or a related degree. You may have also obtained an advanced degree in similar fields. You are registered as an Engineer in Training (EIT) with the PEO. You have strong technical problem-solving abilities, interpersonal skills, excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills, and are ready to join Framatome and help deliver clean, safe energy and advance nuclear technology.

You may have also acquired the following skills:

- Experience with 3D Modeling & Engineering Analysis Software (e.g. ANSYS, SolidWorks, Autopipe, PIPESTRESS, CAESAR II)

- Engineering Codes and Standards (i.e. ASME B31.1, ASME BPVC)

- Hands on engineering experience

- Python Programming knowledge is a benefit

- Experience with Customer Relations or Customer service

Your Opportunity

You will leverage your skills and experience to be part of an innovative team and make a difference for our customers. As a Mechanical Engineer in Training in Pickering, Ontario, you will be part of the proven team in the Design Engineering Business Line in the Installed Base Business Unit. Under direct supervision, this role includes standard engineering work requiring application of standard established techniques and procedures to carry out tasks in support of Nuclear Facilities. Assignments involve responsibility for planning/conducting complete tasks or portions of a larger project under direction of more experienced staff. Provides technical support related to planning, designing, analyzing, constructing, and maintaining structures, systems, and components. Provides engineering advice, as needed. Your work will include:

- Performs standard engineering assignments typically in areas of design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing, preparation of specifications, execution of field tasks and resolution of field problems.

- Receives assistance and instructions on unusual or more complex features and possible solutions, as needed.

- Ensures compliance with government, organization, and customer engineering standards.

- May independently evaluate, select, and apply standard technical techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgement in making minor adaptations and modifications.

- Works on special projects, as directed.

- Performs other related duties and tasks, as required.

- Utilizes existing and/or acquired technical expertise to find improved technical solutions to support the product life cycle/replacement of current Framatome technologies

- Actively participates in solving technical issues identified by project management, business line management or by customer request with the objective to increase business opportunities for Framatome Canada Ltd
