The Material Handler will work under the direction of the Sr. Production Planner. The Material Handler will be responsible for assisting in the organization and monitoring of inventory, both physical inventory on the shop floor and associated inventory systems.
- Prepares work by gathering necessary materials and reviewing work orders
- Pulls, saws, queues, and verifies materials and supplies for production work orders
- Performs physical transfer of materials between location codes and updates records in inventory systems
- Operates saw equipment according to approved standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Operates forklift and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Prints labels for production and inventory
- Performs part inspection according to approved SOPs
- Uses counting scales for bulk receiving, re-labeling, and re-boxing
- Conducts and coordinates weekly inventory cycle counts with Business Services and Operations
- Assists in quarterly and year-end inventory counts
- Investigates discrepancies in inventory quantities on hand (QOH)
- Maintains organization and cleanliness in material handling areas
- Other miscellaneous tasks as required
- Must have the ability to work in a team atmosphere to obtain common goals and objectives

- Basic understanding of conventional measuring tools and techniques
- Must be able to multi-task
- Excellent hand-eye coordination
- Forklift experience preferred
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Manufacturing experience preferred
- Production environment: dust and grease are common. Significant risks from equipment and the environment require constant care and vigilance
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and carry up to 50+ lbs- Regularly required to use hands and hand tools to handle materials and reach with hands and arms
