Qualified candidates: helpful if you have experience with gauging equipment such as micrometers and calipers, and previous experience operating overhead cranes and hoists, as well as forklifts. Basic computer skills. Previous experience in manufacturing or warehouse environment is strongly preferred. This position takes a lot of upper body strength. Use heavy, hand-held equipment to straighten copper and fit into machines.
You will work in one of the following departments.
Casting: Employees use forklift to move the cathodes (340lb copper plates) into the furnace to melt down. They then extrude the cooling copper into 1” thick wire coiled onto pedestal (frames). Those pedestals are then transferred to other areas via overehead cranes. Employees wear fire-retardant PPE when dealing with the cathodes.
EV (Electric Vehicle): Employees apply enamel to copper wire for use in EV motors. You mush be very mechanically minded person who can infer instructions from watching the trainer. They do most of their own machine maintenance. Lastly, they must be ok with heights. There is a 90ft. tower that they must work in. They will go up and down the stairs all day. It is important to note that the stairs and floor of the tower are see-through. Some people are ok with heights, but seeing all the way down to the main floor between your feet can make even them nervous.
The following three areas use different machines to adjust thickness, shape, length, temperature, etc. to create the product needed based on customer orders.
CRW (Copper Rod & Wire): Receive 1” wire which is then shaved or stretched into rods or wires of various diameters and lengths.
