Brooks Utility Products is seeking a highly motivated self-sufficient Manufacturing Engineer to join our Operations team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Develop and improve manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.

- Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project.

- Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, equipment layout, and facility layout.

- Supports the purchase and installation of new equipment.

- Directs the development and/or improvements of manufacturing processes and equipment.

- Work with production operators, maintenance and floor personnel implementing improvement ideas.

- Directly supervise maintenance and tool room team.

- Teach Lean and other manufacturing tools to the operations team.

- Provides technical support for specific plant operations.

- Write and publish Operator Standardized Work and Quality Procedures.

- Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.

- Maintain product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.

- Keep equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service.

- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

- Support Capital Projects with requests, research, data etc.

Qualifications and Competencies:

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or equivalent experience.

- 3 – 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. Metal stamping, assembly and fabrication environments preferred.

- 3 years’ experience with a 3D or 2D CAD package.

- Experience with job routings and processing documents, including time studies.

- Lean implementation and plant re-arrange hands on experience.

- The ability to prioritize various tasks, communicate technical information through written and verbal means, and solve complex engineering problems through a variety of resources.
