The Manufacturing Engineer will be a key resource responsible for leading continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring maximum operational uptime, and developing robust manufacturing processes, tooling, and quality protocols. This position requires a versatile engineer who can bridge the gap between design, production, maintenance, and quality assurance, applying technical expertise to solve complex problems and drive efficiency and cost savings.
· Lead and execute process improvement projects utilizing Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma principles (e.g., Kaizen events, value stream mapping) to optimize manufacturing efficiency, quality, and reduce cost.
· Analyze current production methods and data (scrap rates, cycle times, yield) to identify and implement areas for continuous improvement.
· Develop, justify, and manage capital projects for new equipment purchases or facility upgrades.
· Lead and perform scheduled Preventive Maintenance (PM) and calibration on critical manufacturing equipment.
· Troubleshoot and perform repairs on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to ensure maximum operational uptime.
· Program and/or troubleshoot CNC milling equipment and other automated machinery (e.g., PLCs, robotics) to support production.
· Design, develop, and implement new and revised manufacturing processes, equipment layouts, and tooling/fixturing.
· Create and revise technical drawings, specifications, and CAD illustrations (2D and 3D) to support manufacturing and product documentation.
· Determine equipment specifications, material requirements, and manufacturing sequence for new and existing products.
· Develop and execute product testing protocols for Quality Assurance (QA) and product development, documenting results in detailed test reports.
· Provide timely and accurate technical support to Sales, Customer Service, and shop floor personnel.
· Required: Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related engineering field.
· Required: 3+ years of experience as an Engineer in a hands-on manufacturing or production environment.
· Proven experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
· Proficiency in a major 3D CAD software package (e.g., Onshape, SolidWorks).
· Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems.
· Experience with ladder logic and CNC programming (G-code) or similar automated equipment programming/troubleshooting.
· Familiarity with quality systems and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
· Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and cross-functional teamwork.
