Leading 90+ year old New York manufacturer seeks experienced Manufacturing (Methods) Engineer for challenging position designing and developing multicomponent mechanical assemblies. Heavy emphasis placed on manufacturing feasibility. Individual will be intimately involved from concept through complete manufacturing cycle.
Job Responsibilities: Provide engineering and technical support for day-to-day manufacturing operations & initiate process improvements
- Develop 3D models & animations in Inventor to guide fabrication, weld & assembly departments.
- Design & develop jigs & fixtures to aid manufacturing.
- Design of equipment and processes for maximum efficiency using AutoCAD.
- Create manuals/ work instructions based on production requirement.
- Plan & establish sequence of operations to fabricate & assemble products & promote efficient L & M utilization.
- Provide assistance to production department & resolve issues associated with various manufacturing techniques.
- Implement GD&T and DFM/DFA
- Participation and offer engineering expertise in production meetings
- Involve in various continuous improvement projects when required.
- Related responsibilities as assigned by management
- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer involved in metal fabrication
- Knowledge & ability to work with AutoCAD & Inventor.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Must be extremely organized & detail oriented.
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction and adjust workload based upon changing priorities.
- Ability to communicate with engineering and manufacturing personnel
- Occasional travel may be required
