Expected salary range
of $118,800 to $132,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).
Primary Purpose Of Position
Coordinates the support for all leave of absence cases and workers' compensation claims. Effectively coordinates all cases/claims to include general administration, comprehensive case management and program compliance with the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and all related employment laws regulations and Constellation policies. This includes coordination with legal for all approvals/denials/EEOC and Department of Labor enforcement activity. Manage development and execution of HR strategies, leave programs, and medical records management processes within Constellation to ensure attainment of project goals, business objectives, and regulatory requirements. This role is critical in mitigating risks, fostering a culture of compliance, and maintaining ethical HR practices.
Primary Duties And Accountabilities
- Maintain current business knowledge/acumen of the FMLA department, leave system, records management, and the records management system to include the application of technology solutions to deliver business results.
- Supervises a team of three FMLA Coordinators. Evaluates performance and provides coaching. Implements career development and succession planning processes.
- Involved with variety of generation HR projects including workforce planning, DEI and participation in enterprise-wide initiatives.
- Collaborating with HR and Payroll to oversee union MBA leave benefits to ensure accuracy in reporting timekeeping.
- Lead and manage technology projects and associated system integrations.
- Manage all administrative aspects of leave case management, including determining FMLA requests for all locations, coordinating with HR business partners, shared services, Legal, and department managers, and ensuring STD claims are aligned with FMLA or general medical cases.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for leave programs in alignment with HR leadership and Legal department guidance.
- Interpret and manage administration of leave programs and policies in accordance with the applicable federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, USERRA, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, etc.).
- Produce and manage reporting metrics and analytics for all leave cases and present reports as requested. Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive leave training program for employees, managers, and HR.
- Maintain and follow standard processes in accordance with company policies, oversee process improvement initiatives, and ensure adoption of procedures that deliver sustainable top quartile cost and performance levels.
- Bachelor's degree and 5-years relevant experience, in lieu of degree 9 years of relevant experience
- Analytical skills, attention to detail, critical thinking, problem solving and independent decision making
- Computer-based analytical skills, strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications
- Previous experience leading people
- Proven customer service skills
- Knowledge of change management and experience with successfully implementing and leading change initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and influence all levels of management
- Ability to clearly communicate both orally and in writing and work effectively across business units, functional groups, multiple levels of the Corporation and external stakeholders
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Profession in Human Resources (SPHR) Certification
