Position Summary
The Manager - Mine is responsible for overseeing all aspects of mining operations, including planning, production, safety, staffing, budgeting, and environmental compliance. This role ensures efficient, safe, and profitable operations while maintaining adherence to local, state, and federal regulations. The Mine Manager leads a team of supervisors, engineers, and operators to achieve operational goals in a sustainable and responsible manner.
Job Responsibilities
Reporting to the General Manager - Mine, the Manager – Mine will be responsible for the following:
- Plan, direct, and manage all mine operations to ensure optimal productivity and safety.
- Assist with development of short-term and long-term mine plans.
- Monitor production levels and adjust operations to meet targets and deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Supervise and support mine personnel including coordinators, supervisors, and equipment operators.
- Manage budgets and control costs, including labor, equipment, and materials.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure equipment and processes meet safety and operational standards.
- Maintain records and prepare reports on production, safety, and compliance metrics.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, local communities, and company stakeholders.
- Lead and foster a culture of continuous improvement and employee development.- 8–10+ years of experience in mining operations, with at least 3–5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interface effectively across all organizational levels and with external stakeholders.
- Excellent time management, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently under pressure.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) for documentation, reporting, and data analysis.MS Office Proficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or a related field. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.
- $125,000 - $160,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
