Job Description
Develop and administer an effective corporate operating and capital budget, reporting and analysis program and provide recommendations in preparation and analysis of budgets. Manage compliance with all financial reporting requirements. Manage the development, update and/or filing of Chugach’s Audited Financial Statements, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) filings, Financial Forecast (FF) and Return of Organization Exempt from Income Tax, IRS Form 990.
Essential Functions•Manage the preparation and analysis of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements and cashflow statements.
•Develop and maintain financial reporting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
•Conduct variance analysis and identify key drivers of performance. Analyze financial data and performance metrics to provide actionable insights
•Monitor and ensure timely identification and compliance with evolving accounting guidance, provide US GAAP interpretation and prepare technical memorandums that document issues in a clear, concise and comprehensive manner.
•Manage the development and release of presentation materials for stakeholders and management.
•Manage the preparation and review of presentation materials for stakeholders and management. Present the materials if needed.
•Assist in the coordination of audits
•Support company goals of continuous improvement and operational excellence at strategic and tactical levels. Including reviewing area of responsibility for improvement opportunities to initiate projects.
•Prepare ad-hoc financial reports as requested
•Ensure adherence to and effectiveness of internal control in own area of responsibility.
•Manage the preparation and analysis of annual budgets and forecasts. Coordinate with internal teams to gather necessary financial data
•Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in financial planning and analysis.
•Provides leadership for the attainment of departmental goals. Counsels, reviews and evaluates subordinates' performance. Plans for staffing, training and development of department personnel.
•Create and maintain the monthly and quarterly checklists to ensure all reporting tasks are completed timely.
•Prepare government surveys and other compliance reports.
•Serves as a backup on banking administration and transaction review/approval.
•Develop corporate budget policy and procedures.

Internal
•VP, Finance & Accounting: Report to and receive direction and guidance from.
•Chief Financial Officer: Confer with, give and receive information
•Chief Executive Officer: Provides requested information.
•Board of Directors: Backup to the VP of Finance and Accounting to present financial updates, Attend Board meetings as required. Participate in Audit and Finance Committee meetings.

•Independent Auditors: Coordinate and provide information. Acts as interface to ensure timely completion of Chugach's annual audits requests and evaluates input relative to tax issues and other matters affecting Chugach’s financial performance.
•Outside Consultants: Interface and participate with on major financial, budget and other accounting projects including software implementations and customer information requests.
•External Tax Professional: Interface and participate with and provide all necessary information and detail to permit tax professional to perform their function in an efficient manner.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has the supervisory responsibility for the Financial Analyst – Financial Planning and Analysis.
Work Environment
Work is performed in a standard office environment. Occasional overtime due to deadlines and seasonal workloads may be required. Occasional travel may be necessary.
Minimum Qualifications And Experience
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance, required. Master’s Degree, CPA and/or CMA preferred.
Experience
Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in areas of budgeting, auditing, financial control procedures, or similar, including regulatory or agency reporting required including two (2) years of accounting management including supervisory responsibility. Those with only public accounting audit experience of at least three to five years are also encouraged to apply.
