Summary
The Data Strategy Manager will be a visionary leader responsible for developing and executing the organization's data strategy. They will translate business goals into impactful data initiatives, promote a data-centric culture, maximize data value, ensure data accessibility, and drive best practices in data governance through stakeholder collaboration.
Areas of responsibility may include, but are not limited to:
Strategic Planning:
•Develop and implement a comprehensive master data strategy aligned with organizational goals
•Identify opportunities for data optimization
•Assess current data management practices and identify areas for improvement
Master Data Management (MDM):
•Oversee the creation, maintenance, quality, and lifecycle management of master data across the enterprise
•Uphold defined standards and policies for data consistency, accuracy, and integrity
Data Governance:
•Develop and enforce data governance frameworks, policies, and standards to ensure accuracy and compliance
•Collaborate with stakeholders to define data ownership and stewardship roles
•Conduct regular meetings to review governance adherence and policy compliance
Stakeholder Collaboration:
•Partner with ERP, analytics, and business units to meet data needs and ensure alignment
•Serve as a liaison between technical teams and business leaders to translate data requirements
•Collaborate across functions (IT, operations, finance) on master data initiatives
•Act as the primary contact for data-related inquiries and support
Data Quality Assurance:
•Develop and implement data quality metrics and assessment processes
•Conduct regular audits and validations to ensure accuracy and compliance
•Spearhead corrective actions and communicate findings to stakeholders
Technology Enablement:
•Evaluate and recommend data strategies for tools and platforms with a focus on data governance
•Collaborate with ERP, IT, and digital teams to integrate master data solutions into existing systems
Change Management and Training:
•Lead change management to improve data literacy and MDM adoption
•Develop and deliver training programs on data policies, processes, and tools
•Organize training sessions and initiatives to support data management best practices
Education, Skills, Experience, and Knowledge
•Degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field preferred; Bachelor's in Data Management, IT, Business Administration, or similar
•2+ years of experience in insulation distribution or with building materials, emphasizing SPI’s product line or similar
•Experience leading large-scale implementation projects
•Proven ability as a change agent with excellent communication and presentation skills
•Demonstrated collaboration across business functions
•Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and master data management best practices
