About the Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a Manager, Commercial Operations to join our Corporate Centerra team. This position is a hybrid role based at our Toronto, ON office, however we are also open to considering candidates located throughout North America.

This position supports Centerra Gold’s Molybdenum Business Unit (MBU) by leading sales administration, contract execution, and internal coordination across North American and global markets. Operating within the commercial team, the role manages purchase and sales contracts, aligns product flow from mine to roaster to end-customers in order to optimize roaster throughput and EBITDA margin.

The role works closely with the Langeloth Metallurgical Company (LMC) site to ensure efficient delivery execution while actively supporting in the management of pricing exposure and operational variability. This role requires 10+ years experience in metal commercial operations, metals trading, international logistics, toll processing and commercial execution. This role will lead and develop a small team of commercial operations specialists and establish the necessary processes to and drive commercial operations excellence at LMC and to prepare for the ramp-up of sales from Thompson Creek mine.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:


Contract Lifecycle Execution

- Lead the administration and documentation of molybdenum sales, purchase and tolling agreements for unroasted molybdenum concentrates, metallurgical and chemical molybdenum and specialty products including rhenium.

- Serve as the primary liaison for contract admin to our suppliers, customers, and toll processing partners ensuring seamless commercial execution for the entire contract life cycle.

- Manage the global supply chain and coordinate with LMC site, sales, finance, inland trucking, freight forwarders, warehouses, to ensure seamless execution through the contract life cycle.

- Maintain strong relationships with laboratories, warehouses, shipping, customs brokers to manage contract execution and resolve disputes.

- Ensure that QP’s align with contract pricing periods and communicate misalignments and flag any misalignments or operational risks with Senior Commercial Specialist/VP Commercial.


Execution of Sales

- Work with LMC site to ensure that customer orders are released on time, on specification and organizing transport if applicable, preparing necessary export documentation, putting released product on the inventory system and invoice.

- Ensuring that the correct customs information and VAT language is applied to each invoice.

- Liaising with the Senior Commercial Specialist and VP Commercial to ensure that the correct Quotational Periods are adhered to.

- Checking customer credit lines and any outstanding payments before making deliveries.

- Oversee protocols for weighing, sampling, moisture, and documentation—ensuring accurate data for final price determination.


Concentrates Purchases

- Management of the concentrates purchasing process for commercial settlement and finalization including checking of provisional and final invoices including entry of purchase requisitions in SAP.

- Oversee protocols for weighing, sampling, moisture, determination including managing assay exchange and umpire procedures.


Logistics & Tolling Support

- The incumbent will be actively involved with the coordination and organization of all sales administration tasks related to toll processing activities for third-parties at Langeloth.

- Collaborate with the LMC site to align tolling throughput with contractual timelines.

- Liaise weekly with our toll counterparties by preparing a release schedule once a week showing expected returns.

- Manage month-end stock reconciliation and roasting balances with counterparties.

- Manage administrative task relating to consignment and distribution.


Weight Sampling and Assaying Procedures

Administration of Consignment Contracts and Distribution Arrangements

- Monitoring stock levels, invoicing monthly consumption, periodic physical stock checks.

- The incumbent will invoice the customer for monthly consumption. Close liaison with distributors is required in order to ensure contractual commitments are met.


Administration of Letters of Credit

- Liaise with the customer, banks and treasury and to ensure that all documentation is met on time and that risks are managed.


Logistics and Customer Order Flow

- Supervising US inland logistics and international container shipping and warehousing documentation to ensure adherence to contractual delivery schedules.

- Ensure timely entry of sales orders and delivery entry in SAP and shipping documentation for timely invoicing and inventory posting.


Process Improvement

- Enhance contract administration systems, reporting workflows, and documentation protocols to support commercial visibility and compliance.

- Maintain close working relationships across, corporate. site operations, finance, logistics, and sales.

- Develop clear interface points between commercial administration, site operations and planning for seamless contract execution.

- Improve contract to cash procedure to ensure timely invoicing including approval of purchase orders, sales orders.

- Contribute to tariff optimization efforts through accurate delivery documentation.


About You

The following will be critical to successfully performing this role:

- 10+ years of experience in international metals trading, logistics, and commercial operations.

- Proven success in effective commercial administration of complex tolling, swap, and purchase and sales contracts across global markets.

- Expert user of SAP.

- Good excel and PowerPoint skills.

- Knowledge of profitable marketing and trading in metals e.g. molybdenum, base metals or gold.

- Proven track record of effective commercial administration.

- Deep understanding of Inco terms, shipping, ports, contracts, European VAT, regulations international trade compliance and documentary credits.

- Strong attention to detail and high work ethic.

- Experienced at leading and mentoring teams.

- Proficiency in another language would be highly regarded.
