As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks across the shop, office, and facility. Duties include everything from advanced troubleshooting and repair of steel shop machinery to general maintenance and groundskeeping.
We are seeking a candidate with experience in overhead crane systems, PLC programming, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, low-voltage electrical work, and strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ensures machinery and mechanical equipment operation by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
- Locate sources of issues by diagnosing mechanical devices in operation by listening for problems, using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Remove and replace defective parts by dismantling divisions, using hoists, cranes, and hand power tools, and examining their form and texture.
- Determines changes in part dimensional requirements by inspecting used parts, rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
- Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventative maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of the use of power tools and equipment
- Knowledge of metal and basic shop fabrication equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, engineering specifications, and troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Knowledge of overhead crane repair, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and control circuits/contacts
- Ability to withstand pressure and adapt to change.
- Ability to multi-task while meeting strict deadlines.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent or technical school certificate in mechanical-related field of study
- Experience with machines and tools used in welding, including designs, uses, maintenance, and repair.
- Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.
- Frequently moves materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
