Position Summary
The Machine Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the optimal functioning of all manufacturing tools and equipment at our Pickens facility. This role supports day-to-day operations by minimizing downtime and implementing proactive maintenance measures to extend equipment life and ensure workplace safety.
- Conduct routine, preventative, and emergency maintenance on manufacturing machinery and tools
- Maintain maintenance logs, inspection checklists, and documentation for all equipment
- Repair equipment including forklifts, welding machines, plasma tables, beamlines, vertical saws, and air compressors
- Coordinate and track scheduled maintenance tasks and ensure timely completion
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to equipment performance and workplace safety
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with safety procedures
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to reduce downtime
- Complete other maintenance tasks as assigned by site leadership
- 3–5 years of experience maintaining mechanical and industrial equipment
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Familiarity with structural steel manufacturing equipment is preferred
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and equipment specifications
- Forklift certification (or ability to obtain one)
- Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and work in physically demanding conditions
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to safety and attention to detail
- Indoor/outdoor manufacturing and fabrication environment
- Exposure to loud noise, moving machinery, fumes, and seasonal weather
- Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, lifting, and use of PPE
- Must be comfortable working under pressure and tight production deadlines
