Maintenance-Reliability Engineer Co-Op/Intern

Mosaic Potash Belle Plaine is a solution mine and refinery located 50 kilometers west of Regina on the Trans-Canada Highway. It is the world’s largest solution mine that is full of talented people and is home to over 500 dedicated employees.

A Maintenance-Reliability Engineer Co-Op/Intern at Mosaic will be part of a team focused on providing engineering support to site Production and Maintenance teams. Co-op projects will range from making safety improvements, equipment redesigns, process upgrades, or executing typical Reliability focused concepts depending on site needs and applicant’s skillset. Term
January 12th, 2026 up to 12 months
Full time Co-Op/Internship. Typically, 36-40 hours a week on site.
What will you do?
Day to day work assignments could include:
•Leading and implementing safety improvement projects
•Troubleshooting rotating equipment and components such as pumps, crushers, conveyors, elevators, etc. and providing engineering recommendations and/or design improvements
•Utilizing technical drawings, codes, regulations, computer programs, hand calculations, collaboration to provide engineering solutions
•Evaluating and optimizing equipment/process performance
•Investigating failures to determine root causes and developing corrective actions
•Providing engineering recommendations and design improvements for stationary assets such as tanks, vessels, piping, chute work, and structures
•Communicating with various groups of personnel throughout the organization including management, plant operators, engineers (of various disciplines), tradespeople, and contractors
•Participating in department meetings and meetings specific to the project assignment
•Adhering to Mosaic’s mission, guiding principles and priorities, and key competencies.
What do you need for this role?
•Second year by January 2026 or higher pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineer, Industrial Systems Engineer or Mechanical Engineer
•72% Percentage or higher.
•1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is preferred.
•Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred.
•Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office.
•Ability to work full time and be a student in standing at the time of the co-op/internship
•Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete the following: Post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination.
•Basic computer skills are required.
•Experience working in a team environment is a must.
•Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable.
•Effective verbal communication skills is a plus.
•Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments.
