The Maintenance Mechanic Youth Co-op position is designed to give students hands-on experience with inspecting, repairing, and maintaining powered industrial equipment. The co-op will assist experienced mechanics in performing preventive and reactive maintenance on industrial and mobile equipment. This is an excellent opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to real-world tasks in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
- Assists in the installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of various equipment.
- Perform welding repairs and fabrications.
- Apply techniques learned in school to mechanical and welding tasks.
- Help repair equipment and replace defective parts under the supervision of a qualified technician.
- Perform cleaning, lubrication, and other necessary maintenance work.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by senior mechanics.
- Ensure proper care and maintenance of tools and equipment.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of the inner workings of industrial equipment and welding.

- Follow up- Age 18+ and enrolled in an accredited technical high school or technical high school program in mechanical and/or welding.
- Frequently exposed to loud noise, dirt, and grease while repairing equipment.
- Required to work outdoors in all environments daily.
- Frequent hot work and occasional confined space work.
- Stoop, crouch, kneel, reach, walk, stand, talk, hear
- Use hands to feel and grasp
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
