Maintenance Helper/ Shop Handyman – First Shift (4-Day Workweek)

About the Role

We’re a well-established machine shop looking for a dependable, hands-on person to handle day-to-day maintenance and jump on small problems before they turn into big ones. No CNC experience required.

Responsibilities

- Change HVAC and machine air filters

- Fix simple issues (loose guards, leaks, stuck latches, light bulbs)

- Move/organize material with a forklift (we can train/certify)

- Cut bar/tube/plate to size on a band or cold saw; deburr and label

- Do simple plumbing (PEX/PVC, leaks, traps)

- Basic electrical, power OFF: reset breakers/GFCI, swap outlets/switches/fixtures, test for no voltage

- Keep work areas clean, empty chip bins, restock supplies

- Help techs and vendors on larger repairs; follow simple checklists

Qualifications

- Good with hand/power tools and a tape measure (read to 1/16")

- Safety-minded, organized, and clean; can lift 50 lbs and be on your feet most of the day

- Forklift experience or willing to learn (we’ll train)

- Basic shop math; can follow written steps and take clear notes/photos

- Valid driver’s license; 18+ and authorized to work in the U.S.
