We are seeking an experienced Maintenance General Manager to oversee all maintenance operations across our West Division. This role will provide leadership to shop managers and technicians, ensuring consistency, compliance, and efficiency across multiple locations. The Maintenance General Manager will be responsible for aligning daily operations with organizational goals, improving asset reliability, and developing strong leaders within the region.
- Directly manage and support Shop Managers in specified region
- Ensure consistency in processes, reporting, and accountability across all regional shops.
- Regularly visit each shop to maintain visibility, provide guidance, and support local leadership.
- Monitor daily shop performance, including repair order completion, turnaround times, and technician productivity.
- Drive compliance with preventive maintenance (PM) schedules, DOT/Federal Annual Inspections, and all regulatory requirements across all business units.
- Manage regional parts and vendor relationships, holding external providers accountable for quality, billing accuracy, and warranty recovery.
- Track and manage maintenance budgets, ensuring cost per asset and overall spending align with company objectives.
- Enforce company safety policies and regulatory compliance across all shops.
- Oversee shop readiness and safety for internal and external inspections.
- Mentor and develop Shop Managers and technicians, ensuring staffing levels and schedules align with workload demands.
- Analyze and report on KPIs, including downtime, cost per mile/hour, PM compliance, and technician productivity.- 10+ years of fleet or heavy-equipment maintenance experience. - 5+ years of leadership experience managing multi-site operations.
- Clear driving and criminal record.
- Strong knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations, OSHA standards, and preventive maintenance programs.
- Proven success in managing shop managers and regional teams.
- Hands-on experience with maintenance management systems.
- Strong vendor management and financial oversight skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
