Machinist I

Overview

The Machinist is responsible for operating manual machinery to support production and repair of many different compressor and engine parts needs while maintaining safe work practices and assisting the Manufacturing team. Machinist will also be responsible for the safety of operation, monitoring and troubleshooting the wastewater system daily. Perform all aspects of sampling, testing and monitoring wastewater, required to maintain compliance with federal, state & locals laws governing the wastewater treatment process.

Required Qualifications:

- High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution

- Minimum 0 – 2 years of experience in manual machining, lathe and mill experience in oil & gas, power, heavy equipment and hands-on experience with wastewater treatment

- Understanding of wastewater regulation and environmental impact in oil and gas

- Advanced knowledge of precision measuring tools such as dial and Vernier calipers, ID MICS, depth mics, ball mics, etc.

- Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds physically able to perform labor, prolonged periods of standing, bending, or kneeling to meet the requirement of working in the parts warehouse to put items on the shelf for storage

- Work in a constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending and other physical activities

- Adapt to constantly evolving work requirements in a team environment

- Work overtime, weekends and holidays, as required

- Ability to obtain certification to operate a forklift, pallet jack and crane

- Ability to read and understand instructions; quality control; and safety

- Effective verbal, written communications skills

- Basic math and computer skills

- Ability to read, evaluate and respond to product specifications and drawings

- Familiar and comfortable with various types of manual metal cutting machinery (mechanically inclined)
