Edmonton Exchanger is a one-stop shop for manufacturing and maintenance, supplying pressure vessel components, field services, machining, heat exchangers, custom fabrication, and pipe fabrication.

We are searching for an energetic, self-motivated individual to apprentice in our machine shop. Edmonton Exchanger features a diverse range of machining capabilities, including lathes and both vertical and horizontal boring mills. Our machine shop was designed to handle large-diameter components and boasts equipment that is some of the largest of its kind.

o Beginner rate - $22.64/hour

o 1st year apprentice rate - $26.67/hour

o 2nd year apprentice rate - $33.49/hour

o 3rd year apprentice rate - $40.18/hour

o Journeyman rate - $44.65 to $49.45/hour – depending on experience level

o 5% Statutory Holiday pay

o 4% Vacation pay for first year – increases to 6% after one year

o $3.50 Hourly RRSP Contribution after 3 months

o $2.71 Hourly Equivalent of Health/Dental/STD/LTD Benefits Package after 3 months

Reporting Relationships

The individual will report directly to the Machine Shop foreman.

Principal Duties, Responsibilities, and Accountability

The successful candidate will hold a CNC Machinist Certificate from NAIT or a comparable certificate from another institution. We will also consider applicants who have started an apprenticeship program elsewhere. A successful candidate will be required to learn to operate a diverse mix of manual and CNC equipment.

· Willing to work swing shift when required, which is 2 weeks on 7:30 am to 4:00 pm shift and 2 weeks on 4:00 pm to 12:30 am shift on a rotating basis.
