Under the direction of the Fabrication Supervisor, the Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining a machine during the production cycle.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•
Operates and control machine settings
•
Effectively uses overhead cranes to lift steel onto machine
•
Feeds material through the machine, creating specific cuts/holes into the columns and/or beams
•
Identifies and loads correct electronic data, AutoCAD files and machine programs to complete the setup for each job.
•
Examines work and check defects regularly
•
Completes and maintains any required paperwork, records and documents
•
Checks work area for hazards
•
Complies with safety regulations and wears appropriate PPE at all times
•
Leaves work area in a clean/safe state when shift is complete
Qualifications:Education and/or Experience
•
High school diploma or equivalent required; or demonstrated extensive welding experience
•
1-2 years of machine operating experience preferred
•
Prior CNC programming experience is a plus

Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints

Ability to understand measurements and use a tape measurer
