Job Description – Machine Operator and General Labour
· $2.50 an hour attendance bonus is paid bi-weekly if employee has no un-authorized leave during that period
· To operate machines, equipment and produce production parts to required tolerance
· Provide back-up to other areas of the plant as required
· Operate one or more industrial machines (stamping, forming, cutting)
· Use hand and power tools, in a safe and efficient manner, to clean cut parts
· Handle raw material and cut parts manually and using overhead crane
· Be able to anticipate the next order and stage supplies/products needed
· Organize equipment and materials to minimize downtime
· Able to operate various manufacturing equipment as required on the shop floor
· Report any conditions of concern regarding products, materials, or safety immediately to Supervisor or Production Manager
· Miscellaneous jobs in the production area, as needed or directed
· 1+ years of heavy-duty saw cutting or other industrial machine operating experience
· Must be able to operate an overhead crane
· Must be able to read, comprehend and use simple mathematics; apply information gained from reading product specifications, quality instructions, and work instructions
· Follow directions and produce acceptable quality and required quantities
Education Required: High school graduate or G.E.D.
· Able to lift 55 pounds regularly throughout the shift
· In a one-hour period throughout the workday, approximately 45 minutes standing, 5 minutes kneeling/stooping and 10 minutes walking
· Must be able to stand, sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel and/or crouch for extended periods of time
· While performing the duties of this job, the individual is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions
· Vision: 20/20 corrected and normal hearing range
· Able to work in a non-climate controlled environment – cool in winter months and hot in the summer months
