Description DESCRIPTION:
Low Voltage Cable Technician encompasses a large range of technicians, those with little or no knowledge of telecommunications cabling installation up to those many years of experience. A Low Voltage Technician should have the ability to learn the basic concepts of copper and fiber optic cabling, installation and service with the desire to learn various voice, data, security, and CCTV systems.

- Troubleshoot issues with existing installations to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
- Ensure compliance with NEC or BICSI standards during installations.
- Utilize power tools and hand tools safely and effectively during work.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns.
- Pulling, routing, installing and terminating cat5/cat6/fiber structured cabling infrastructure in a commercial environment.
- Ability to work independently
- Must be able to work nights and out of town

- $2.00 Pay Differential for Night shifts
- Company paid lodging w/$45.00 Daily meal per diem
- $30.00 Monthly Cell Phone Allowance
- Company vehicles
- Paid mileage if vehicles are not available
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:Training – Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Applicants must have the ability to participate in classroom and on the job training.
Experience – Must have Valid State Drivers' License and good Motor Vehicle Record
- Entry level to Experienced Low Voltage Technician or similar role.
- Knowledge of NEC or BICSI regulations related to low voltage installations.
- BICSI Certified Preferred
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Necessary Special Requirements – Must be at least 18 years of age. Applicants must, as a condition of employment, pass the following pre-offer and post-offer/hire processes: interview, cabling skill tests, reference checks and background checks. Applicant must have reliable transportation. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
Applicants must have the ability to obtain the items on Source Communications’ Low Voltage tools list.
Applicants must be able to understand verbal and written English. Applicants must be able to complete written paperwork in English.
