Tiger Fuel is searching for an energetic individual to join our Transport team as Operations Manager. It's a great opportunity to be a part of a strong locally owned and operated company. In this role you'll be exposed to fuel operations, finance, customer service, and contribute to the safe, profitable, and efficient distribution of a number of fuel and petroleum products.
Supervise and support a team of fuel transport drivers, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
Serve as a liaison between customers and drivers ensuring effective communication and providing excellent customer service
Manage the productivity and performance of a team of drivers, their equipment and deliveries
Utilize specialized software programs to monitor and direct drivers and equipment, to access and enter financial information including payroll, and to maintain compliance with regulatory agencies
Communicate daily with the operations team to maximize efficiency
Perform timely administrative activities associated with the effective management of transport operations, including compiling, storing, and retrieving data for reports and driver payroll.
Handle driver concerns, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions as needed
Enforce adherence to safety protocols and company policies
Communicate effectively with drivers, dispatch staff and customers regarding schedules, challenges, and updates.
Maintain and monitor compliance with company operational standards as well as DOT, FMCSA and other regulatory compliance for drivers
Promote the "Tiger Way" and our cycle of success by building high quality relationships with employees, customers and outside vendors
Perform regular truck inspections to ensure safe operation and a clean appearance.
Be available to rotate on call responsibilities to support drivers and dispatchers.
High school diploma, or equivalent with advanced Degree in business administration or logistics preferred (or similar experience equivalent)
Displays an awesome, "Can-Do" attitude, passionate about providing "Tiger Way" customer service support
Ability to work independently and as a part of a larger team
Possesses outstanding communication skills - verbal and written
Minimum of three years' supervisory experience, preferably in fuel transportation, logistics or fleet management.
An adaptive personality: you'll be working with a variety of customers, as well as with our drivers, and dispatchers.
Proficiency in dispatch software, fleet management tools, and Microsoft Office
Ability to make real-time decisions to resolve scheduling or operational challenges.
