Mid-South Metals is a family owned company with locations in Fort Worth, Shreveport, Houston and Tulsa. We specialize in first and second stage steel processing. Plasma burned parts and bent plate.

Responsible for driving DOT register vehicles to deliver orders to Business Partners.

Tasks

· Delivers goods to business partners.

· Obeys all traffic laws and DOT requirements.

· Coordinates with co-workers and supervisor to determine delivery routes.

· Assists with loading and unloading truck.

· Fills out pre-trip checklist and driver log.

· Inspects and maintains vehicle, adding fluids and oil as needed. Any Material Cost paid by Company

· Performs minor mechanical repairs. (air in tires, light bulbs, wipers) Any Material Cost paid by Company

· Reports any vehicle issues and assists with scheduling repairs or inspections.

· Maintains DOT required vehicle paperwork or placards within or on vehicle.

· Manages and scans company paperwork or receipts involving deliveries or vehicle.

· Maintains a clean and safe vehicle.

Requirements

· Possess and maintain a CDL license and clean driving record.

· Ability to represent the company professionally through appearance and effective communication with business partners.

· Complete training in safety practices, shop procedures, grinding, overhead crane, and forklift.

· Ability to communicate issues and strategies with co-workers and supervisor.

Ability to pass drug and alcohol screen before being put into a truck

Physical Requirements

· Requires sitting and driving for long periods.

· Requires lifting and carrying up to 50lbs.

· Requires working in very hot (above 90 F degrees) or very cold (below 32 F degrees) temperatures.

*Requires passing a drug and alcohol test before being hired and put into a truck.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
