Jefferson County Stone is an underground limestone mine/quarry seeking candidates to fill our need for an underground Pit Loader Operator in Louisville, KY. The successful candidate for this role will operate a front-end loader, effectively communicate with management, other operators, and help maintain a safe work environment.

Jefferson County Stone - Rogers Group Inc - Louisville, KY

Full-Time

Day shift - approximate shift times: 5:00 am - 1:00 pm.

Wages starting at $25.00/hr. for entry level candidates. Candidates with mining experience will be preferred. Some positions require no experience and Rogers Group will train. Pay will be determined based on experience.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising emphasis on safety excellence, be a self-starter and will have responsibilities that include but are not limited to:

- Learning and understanding our safety culture and implementing all of Rogers Group’s safety principles without compromise

- Safely and efficiently operate a front-end loader in an underground environment to load haul trucks, feed material to the primary crusher, and/or manage stockpiles.

- Inspect, clean, and perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment (fluids, grease points, tires, lights, etc.).

- Communicate with management, plant operators, and other equipment operators to maintain steady production flow.

- May be called upon at the discretion of the supervisor in charge to perform any other duties assigned and/or to assist with other areas as necessary


Qualifications

- High School Diploma or GED required

- General mechanical knowledge

- Ability to maintain safe working conditions

- Self-starter/ ability to work without close supervision

- Previous experience working in a mining environment preferred

- Basic welding skills preferred, but not required

- Must pass pre-employment drug screening

- Overtime is required as needed and may include Saturdays
