Overview
To assist the construction and service crews in providing adequate service to all our customers.
Responsibilities
Position may be filled at the Line Tech A, B, C, Trainee B, or Laborer-General level based on the successful candidate’s background, education, and experience. Additional responsibilities may be included for higher levels of the role.
•Learn to identify and use the materials, tools, equipment and voltage used in utility construction work
•Learn to operate mobile equipment and communications equipment
•Learn basic knots and riggings as well as tensile strengths of ropes, slings, and wench lines
•Police vehicle, storeroom, work materials and job area
•Accept delivery and make disbursements of work materials
•Check tools and equipment for wear or damage
•Develop attitude of safety in work environment anticipating and reacting to hazards as presented. Know OSHA and Company safety rules
•Knowledge of first aid administration
•Develop skills in time and material accounting procedures
•Learn to prepare materials, provide aid and anticipate needs of co-workers in the installation and/or maintenance of equipment
•Learn to climb and use aerial equipment in preparation for advancement
•Provide aid to all departments as requested
Qualifications
Position may be filled at the Line Tech A, B, C, Trainee B, or Laborer-General level based on the successful candidate’s background, education, and experience.
Recommended Education/Experience
High School diploma or equivalent.
Special Qualifications
•Must be successfully recommended from EEI test
•Must have good mathematical, literacy and communications skills
•Regular attendance is essential for satisfactory performance in this position..
•Must live within 25 miles of report location or be willing to relocate.
•Must have a valid driver’s license and certifiable under the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. Must qualify within a reasonable period of time for a Class B Commercial Drivers License. with the following endorsements: air brakes

Regular attendance is essential for satisfactory performance in this position.
Work Conditions
•Must like outdoor work and handle exposure to elements (hot, cold, rain, snow, etc.)
•Limited overtime and/or overnight travel.
Physical Effort
•Must have good vision and hearing
•Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and frequently stoop, bend, push, pull, etc.
•Must have good manual dexterity and be able to use hand and power tools
Job Hazards Or Danger
•Exposure to traffic and limited exposure to high voltage equipment with very high current potential.
