We are seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Line Equipment Operator (LEO) to operate and maintain specialized utility equipment for transmission line construction and maintenance. This position plays a vital role in keeping our infrastructure strong and dependable, often working alongside line crews in varied and challenging environments.
- Operate and maintain a variety of vehicles and equipment, including:
- Cranes (up to 40 tons)
- Digger Derricks – for digging holes and setting poles
- Other light to medium duty vehicles such as trucks, tractors, and specialty equipment
- Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of transmission lines, poles, and related infrastructure
- Load, unload, and transport materials and equipment to/from work sites
- Follow all safety procedures and comply with regulations for electrical transmission work
- Perform manual labor such as digging, lifting, and carrying as required
- Complete routine equipment maintenance and minor repairs (e.g., fluid checks, filter changes)
- Maintain accurate records, including work orders and equipment logs
- Respond to service calls and emergencies affecting transmission lines and equipment
- Proven ability to operate light and medium-duty utility equipment
- Physical capability for outdoor, physically demanding work in all weather conditions
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform minor equipment repairs
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures for working with electricity and heavy equipment
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with supervisors and crew members
- CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) required or preferred depending on equipment scope
- Familiarity with transmission line construction and maintenance practices preferred
