Equipment Operator

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy equipment, including trackhoe (excavator), dozer, loader, and haul truck, in a mining or similar environment. This role is responsible for supporting safe and efficient extraction, transportation, and handling of sand and other materials.

Responsibilities

- Operate heavy equipment including trackhoe, dozer, loader, and haul truck safely and efficiently.

- Conduct daily inspections and basic maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.

- Load and haul sand and overburden material within the mine site in a safe and productive manner.

- Maintain haul roads, stockpiles, and work areas using proper grading techniques.

- Assist with site prep, reclamation, or other earthmoving tasks as directed.

- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding site conditions, equipment issues, and safety concerns.

- Follow all company policies and safety procedures including MSHA regulations.

- Complete required logs, inspection forms, and other documentation accurately and on time.

- Assist with other responsibilities and tasks as needed to support overall mine operations.

Experience

- Proven experience in heavy equipment operation is essential.

- Familiarity with various types of machinery, including trackhoe, dozer, loader, and haul truck, is preferred.

- Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.

- Knowledge of mine site safety practices and MSHA regulations (preferred).

- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of equipment functions and maintenance.

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

- Previous experience in construction or related fields is advantageous.

Working Conditions

- Outdoor work in various weather conditions.

- Physically demanding; requires standing, climbing, bending, and lifting.

- Exposure to dust, noise, and vibration typical of mining environments.

- May involve working extended hours, weekends, or rotating shifts based on production needs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 33 – 60 per week
