Lift Truck Operator

Universal Metal Products has an immediate need for a Lift Truck Operator to join our team in Pharr, TX.

This position handles the delivery of material (steel, parts, boxes, etc.) to the machines as required.

Essential Responsibilities:

- Operates lift truck to move materials, parts or finished stock within plant.

- Responsible for adequate stocking of pallets or other loads and manufacturing in congested areas.

- Place materials or parts in stock where required.

- Loads and unloads trucks

- Checks and maintains vehicles – lift trucks, hand trucks, etc. Completed required daily forklift checklist

- Keep designated areas properly stocked with bins, boxes, etc.

- Responsible for keeping scrap emptied and areas cleaned.

- Responsible for properly stocking and storage process material

- Make sure that recyclable and returnable items are properly stored.

- Responsible for moving rejected parts to non-conforming when necessary.

- May breaks down bins to coordinate for dumping stations.

- May dump various finished parts.

- Movement of skids to staging area by using towmotor.

- May prepare and wrap skids for shipment.

- May help sort parts for shipment.

- Uses overhead crane and/or floor jacks to maneuver bins.

- Responsible for the housekeeping of assigned area.

Qualifications:

- Must be able to lift 40 to 60 lbs.

- Forklift certification required

- Basic computer skills helpful

- Minor math skills required; use of calculator required.

- Must be reliable/dependable

- HS Diploma or GED required
