Job Title: Lead Transmission Engineer

LineWorks Engineering is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Lead Transmission Engineer to join our growing transmission team. This role is for an experienced engineer with a focus on high-voltage overhead transmission line design and foundations. The Transmission Engineer will use various industry standard in-house and client-based software applications to design and develop engineering construction packages. This is a mid-to senior-level position that requires a minimum of 5 years of direct experience in the design of high-voltage overhead transmission lines.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor of Science in engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program

- Engineer in Training Certificate (EIT) preferred and Professional Engineering (PE) license or the ability to obtain one preferred

- Minimum of 5 years of transmission line design experience in the electric utility industry

- Proficient in design of transmission foundations

- Extensive experience with design codes and industry standards, including: NESC, ASCE, IEEE, and ACI

- Proficient in the following industry software: PLS-CADD, PLS Pole, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite

- Ability to apply engineering principles to solve complex technical problems

- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills

- Willing to travel for on-site work responsibilities involving occasional overnight travel to locations for meetings with clients, vendors, and equipment suppliers

- Pre-employment drug screening, background check and valid drivers license

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the design and development of overhead transmission lines utilizing PLS-CADD

- Provide technical guidance, review project deliverables, QA/QC and mentor junior engineers and other team members

- Support the development and review of transmission design drawings, specifications, and construction documents

- Sustain strong relationships with LineWorks' clients and contractors, ensuring clear communication to achieve client satisfaction, adhere to deadlines, and stay within budget.

- Stay up-to-date with industry standards, regulations, and best practices for transmission line design

- Collaborate with other engineers, clients, and contractors to ensure project goals are met

- Assist in the preparation of progress reports, compliance documentation, and record-keeping of transmission technical documents and drawings
