Lead Scheduler – Heavy Civil Construction
Columbus, OH | On-site | Minimal Travel (5–10%)
Competitive Base + Bonus | Relocation Support Available
We’re looking for a scheduler who doesn’t just update timelines—they build the entire game plan.
Start by reading this entire description, carefully.
If you've spent the last 8+ years deep in the trenches of civil construction—mapping out site logistics, building from raw dirt to ribbon-cutting—and you’re ready to lead both projects and people, this might be your next move.
What You'll Do:
•Break down complex heavy civil projects into clear, achievable phases—procurement through punch list—and build baseline schedules from scratch.
•Partner with PMs, estimators, engineers, clients, and trade partners to craft master schedules that are realistic, strategic, and aligned with field execution.
•Perform Time Impact Analysis (TIA) and support delay claims and risk mitigation efforts.
•Ensure that all project schedules meet contract specs, performance requirements, and client expectations.
•Participate in estimating and project planning meetings, offering schedule insights and value-engineering ideas.
•Regularly present schedules and narratives to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
•Coach and mentor junior schedulers—this role offers leadership runway for someone ready to grow into team development.
•Occasionally visit job sites to stay close to project realities (5–10% travel).
What We’re Looking For:
•8+ years in heavy civil or heavy industrial construction, preferably from a GC environment (bonus if you’ve been a PM or PE turned scheduler).
•Experience with complex infrastructure builds—earthwork, concrete, utilities— (not oil & gas, unless oil/gas is a small part of greater experience).
•Strong skills in Primavera P6 and/or Oracle Primavera Cloud.
•Experience performing critical path, earned value, and schedule impact analysis.
•Understanding of USACE, DOD, or federal construction schedule specs is a plus.
•Excellent communication skills—comfortable working across multiple levels of a project org chart.
•Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience.
Why You’ll Love This Role:
•You’ll stay local—no constant travel—but still impact significant, high-profile projects.
•A strong base salary and performance bonus structure reward your expertise.
•Relocation perks and a structured onboarding program support your transition.
•You’ll have the chance to build a team and influence how work gets built from the ground up.
•Culture of growth ( role is open due to a recent promotion).
