As a Lead Installer, you will oversee and execute the installation of furniture and architectural products in commercial spaces, combining hands-on technical work with strong leadership. You’ll manage on-site installation crews, ensure projects meet quality and safety standards, and serve as the primary point of contact for clients. Collaborating closely with project managers, designers, account executives, and subcontractors, you’ll help deliver timely, high-quality results while fostering a professional work environment. This field-based role operates out of our Fort Collins Slate office for daily planning and debriefing.
What you’ll do:
•Review project plans, layouts, and instructions to prepare for accurate, efficient installations.
•Lead and supervise installation crews, assigning tasks, resolving on-site issues, and ensuring high-quality, on-time project completion.

•Coordinate daily onsite logistics, including crew assignments, and resource planning with project managers.
•Participate in hands-on installation of furniture and architectural products, following all safety and manufacturer guidelines.
•Monitor and enforce safety protocols, promoting a safety-first mindset and teaching best practices.
•Participate in pre-installation meetings and on-site walkthroughs with stakeholders to align on expectations and anticipate challenges.
•Track and manage inventory, including loading, transporting, organizing materials, and ensuring proper on-site storage.
•Submit accurate daily timesheets for subcontracted crews and keep worksites clean and organized.
•Provide feedback and regular updates to stakeholders and conduct quality checks and punch walks to ensure client satisfaction and project signoff.
•Train, mentor, and support new installers, helping them ramp up quickly and uphold Slate’s standards.
Who you are:
•You bring 2–3 years of furniture installation experience, including at least 1 year leading crews on job sites.
•You have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record to operate company vehicles.
•You have strong technical skills and are confident using hand and power tools to install furniture and architectural products.
•You know how to read and interpret floor plans, assembly instructions, and layouts with precision.
•You’re a hands-on leader who can manage teams, delegate tasks, and hold others accountable while fostering a collaborative, respectful work environment.
•You thrive in fast-paced environments, stay calm under pressure, and are highly organized with excellent time management.
•You adapt easily to change, stay flexible when plans evolve, and approach shifting priorities with a positive mindset.
•You lead by example—giving and receiving feedback, setting clear expectations, and helping your team grow.
•You have great attention to detail and take pride in doing things right the first time—especially during quality checks and punch walks to avoid rework and ensure client satisfaction.
•You prioritize safety, follow protocols closely, and ensure others do the same to maintain a safe job site.
•You are dependable, professional in appearance, and bring strong customer service and communication skills to every job site – representing Slate with integrity.
•You have experience with construction management software like ACC Build or PlanGrid.
