Duties
Responsible for collaborating and contributing to all activities related to the design and delivery of flexibles, and maintain, develop and protect Company know-how. Perform engineering feasibility studies for various flexible pipe applications and review technical documentation, check design and analysis work of peer flexible engineers within a dynamic SSE project taskforce. Assist the Project Management Team and provide inputs to the project schedule. Ensure designs and analyses are performed in compliance with the established design rules and procedures within the TechnipFMC Group. Aid and supervise junior Flexible Pipe Engineers. Oversee several flexible pipe engineering projects. Liaise with the TechnipFMC Corporate Technical Division (FTF) for coordination and transfer of technical capabilities, TechnipFMC know-how and conformance of proposed technical designs. Ensure that conceptual and/or detailed designs conform to project requirements and TechnipFMC engineering standards. Review flexible scope of work, compile and establish design workbook. Execute cross-section and end-fitting design per TFMC procedures. Review clients and industry specifications and compile clarification and qualification list. Liaise with Manufacturing Unit and Global Product Line for resolution of technical and/or manufacturing challenges (NCRs, Out-of-Standards, etc.). Generate macros and small excel or Mathcad routines as required. Establish design report, technical documentation and drawings for all required analysis and project needs (vendor specifications, white papers, technical notes, etc..). Liaise with Manufacturing Units, Global Product Line for resolution of technical and/or manufacturing challenges and provide technical justification (e.g. Technical Queries, Non-Conformance Reports, Out-of-Standards). Domestic and international travel required up to 20% of the time
Requirements
You are meant for this job if:
Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or in a Lead Flexible Pipe Engineer-related occupation.
Position Requires Experience In The Following
- Experience with subsea field architecture items and associated challenges to interpret input data and design complex systems using FE (Finite Element) software.
- Experience with Mechanical Design to assess several complex failure modes that Flexible Pipes may be subject to.
- Experience with design and analysis software such as Orcaflex©, EFLEX ®, PVTsim®.
- Experience in offshore pipeline installation, design and manufacturing related activities.
- Experience with Deepwater designs for water depth 3,000-10,000ft and HP/HT design.
- Experience with Engineering Drawings used to identify and manufacture all components of a Flexible Pipe system.
- Experience with Fluid Mechanics to assess hydrodynamic behavior of Flexible Pipes under water.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and Python to create scripts used to run Dynamic Analyses.
