This mechanic position provides daily preventative and corrective maintenance on our fleet of transports and trailers. This position is primarily responsible for the maintenance and repair of our crude transport fleet and is located in Vinvale, CA with occasional out of region development opportunities.
- Properly inspect and maintain trailers in compliance with all DOT requirements.
- Keep all assigned vehicle maintenance files current including all DOT compliance-related documentation for mechanical work performed on transport vehicles.
- Perform tire changes.
- Perform or coordinate emergency maintenance, breakdown repairs on fleet vehicles.
- Coordinate outside repairs on equipment, annual tanker certifications, inspections, and documentation.
- Maintain truck shop area, order parts, material, oils, lubricants, shop supplies to include Inventory of all parts and supplies.
- Perform routine maintenance activities such as oil changes, air filter changes, power steering service, suspension system service, PTO’s, locking rear-ends, Roper pumps, brakes, wheel bearings and hubs, electrical system service and miscellaneous maintenance activities as needed.
- Perform all preventative maintenance schedules on all assigned vehicles and/or equipment.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair crude oil transport trucks, tankers, and semi-trailers.
- Maintain truck shop area, order parts, material, oils, lubricants, shop supplies.
- Coordinate outside repairs on equipment, annual tanker certifications, inspections and documentation.
- Responsible for maintaining inventory levels within the shop and performing inventory audits.
- Coordinating daily maintenance tasks.
- Scheduling preventative maintenance services and ensuring compliance.
- Solves unique or complex problems that have a broad impact on the business
- Leads teams or projects to achieve assigned goals and objectives; identifies best practices/business improvement opportunities to be evaluated and implemented by the Supervisor
- Must have a valid Driver's License (Class A CDL Preferred)
- At least 5 years of fleet maintenance experience or a combination of ASE/technical certifications and experience preferred.
- Demonstrates specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise. Recognized as an expert in job discipline both within the company and beyond own area.
