Lead Centerless Grinder / Machine Operator - 1st shift

Job description – Machine Operator / Centerless Grinder

You will be asked to add value to each part that you touch, ensuring that our clients (and their customers) receive the highest quality parts that make their final product perform flawlessly. The Lead is also responsible for overseeing the daily operations of centerless grinding within the manufacturing facility. This role ensures production goals are met iwth focus on quality, safety, and efficiency. The Lead will guide a team of operators, provide hands-on technical support, and maintain compliance with company policies and idustry standards.

- Machine operators monitor, maintain, and operate a variety of warehouse equipment.

- Supervise and coordinate the activities of centerless grinding operators to ensure timely and accurate production.

- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables.

- Setting up, operating and maintaining a variety of machining equipment, centerless and surface grinders.

- Monitor workflow, prioritize tasks, and allocate resources to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.

- Machining components to precise dimension and tolerances based on provided specifications.

- Collaborate with production planning, quality, and engineering teams to resolve process or quality concerns.

- Inspect parts with calipers, optical comparator, or gages.

- Understand and utilize ASME Y14.5.

- Ability to work with exotic materials.

- Clean, check for defects, count, and package parts.

- Performs housekeeping of machine and work area, daily maintenance of machine.

Requirements

- Machine operators with surface grinder, centerless grinder, or OD grinder experience of 5+ years are required.

- Experience with surface grinding, lapping, I/D O/D Grinding, and centerless grinding is a plus, but not required.

- Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and using precision measuring tools.

- Reliable team player – communication, customer focused, with good attendance and punctuality.

- Must be able to walk or stand for long period of time, minimum of 8 hours.

- Must be able to lift up to 25-45 lbs.

- Must be able to push / pull 25-45 lbs.

- 20/20 vision (correction OK).

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour depending on experience level with equipment, industry, and job knowledge.
