The Dahill Group is excited to be working with a Denver based non-op producer of natural gas in the Appalachian Basin to find a talented and experienced Land Administration Manager. Our client is a privately owned and operated with headquarters in Denver, CO. The company has strong financial backing (individual investors vs PE), and a knowledgeable management and operations team with extensive industry experience. The company has been operating for 100 years and is committed to creating long-term value for mineral owners by establishing production that brings meaningful economic opportunity to local communities and their Lessors.
This role is crucial in managing the land department administration functions supporting the company’s investors’ exploration and production efforts.
Experience and background for this role will include:
Overseeing land administration staff, 3rd party contractors and land operations:
- Management & Supervision: Leading and directing the Land Administration team, providing guidance and ensuring tasks are performed efficiently and accurately.
- Workflow Management: Overseeing the processes related to establishing, maintaining, and updating ownership records based on analysis of legal documents such as title opinions, assignments, deeds, trusts, and estate documents.
- Compliance: Briefing land agreements to understand obligations and ensure accurate interpretation and compliance with terms.
- Reporting: Preparing and analyzing reports, including budget and planning reports, to provide key stakeholders with insights into land administration activities.
- Setting up and maintaining master files for leases, contracts, joint operating agreements, assignments, farmouts, and other land agreements.
- Land Obligations: Ensuring timely payment of lease obligations.
- Contract Interpretation & Compliance: Briefing land agreements to understand obligations and ensure accurate interpretation and compliance with terms.
Handling division of interest and owner relations:
- Ownership Verification & Documentation: Verifying ownership interests in wells, including royalty owners, working interest owners, and overriding royalty interest owners.
- Revenue Allocation & Distribution: Calculating and overseeing the distribution of revenues based on lease agreements, including royalty rates and working interest percentages.
- Owner Relationship and Inquiries: Responding to inquiries from interest owners regarding lease interpretations, ownership interest calculations, payments, and transfers of ownership.
Developing and maintain mineral owner relationships with transparency and clear communication.
- Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate and detailed records of all transactions and distributions.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Working closely with other departments to ensure smooth land administration processes.
- Landman Collaboration: Working alongside Landmen to research title issues, resolve discrepancies, and ensure accurate ownership records.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Building and maintaining positive relationships with both internal and external customers, landowners, and other stakeholders.
Oil & Gas experience and prior experience in Land Administration is critical.
Position will be in office – 5 days per week. No remote or hybrid schedule. Must reside in the Denver metro area.
Target Base Annual Salary: Range based on experience $140,000 to $165,000
