Job Title

Laborer - Paving - Richmond Department: Paving Reports to:Paving Foreman Major Role and Purpose : Performs various unskilled tasks that are associated with heavy highway paving construction. Description of Duties : Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all federal, state, local and company safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task. Receive daily instruction from the project foreman and/or superintendent. Shoveling, raking, and spreading of stone and asphalt. Backfilling, tamping, and leveling of paving materials. Maintain the cleanliness of the jobsite and all designated paving areas as required. Assist other paving crew members as needed. Perform all other duties deemed necessary or assigned. Education: High School Diploma / GED. Work Experience: Previous heavy highway paving construction experience preferred. Physical Demands: Job requires the following motions: stretching, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, throwing, walking, standing, reaching, and squatting. Walking or standing may occupy the entire day. Able to lift up to 50 lbs. Potential exposure to extremes of hot or cold weather. Overtime work is required. Valid Driver's License with transportation to and from job sites.
