We are hiring a Contract Lab Technologist
to support one of our valued clients in the Cold Lake region. This is a FIFO role with a 7-days on / 7-days off schedule. Flights and camp accommodations are included.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting laboratory operations, safety and environmental systems, and providing critical technical support to stakeholders across projects, R&D, and operations optimization.
- Support Asset and Stakeholders by conducting
routine and non-routine lab analysis
.
- Accurately capture, report, and communicate data for
Operations, MARP, EPAP, Compliance, Regulatory, Production Accounting, Reservoir, and Sales Oil
.
- Adhere to all
laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs)
.
- Maintain a neat, organized, and safe laboratory environment, including stocking supplies, cleaning equipment/work areas, sample management, and waste disposal.
- Troubleshoot, perform maintenance, and calibrate laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
- Ensure
daily QA/QC checks
are performed, documented, and charted for all lab instruments.
- Comply with all
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)
requirements, and proactively identify issues impacting safety, environment, or production.
- Bachelor of Science
(Asset).
- Diploma in Chemical Technology
(Preferred).
- 5–10 years of experience as a
Lab Technologist
(or in a closely related role).
- Proven ability to operate and maintain
multiple laboratory instruments
across different analytical areas.
- H2S Alive
(Required).
- Microsoft Office proficiency
(Required).
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
(Required; candidate will be driving a Cenovus vehicle).
- Rotation:
7/7 (Thursday–Wednesday)
, 11 hrs 26 mins/day, 80 hrs per rotation.
