As the Key Account Manager, you will have the opportunity to maintain and grow Cass Precision Machining's longest-standing customer partnerships. Acting as the primary commercial contact and orchestrator across supporting roles, the KAM ensures customer retention, profitability, and strategic alignment. This role develops and executes account strategies, defends Cass's value proposition, and drives accountability with customers and internal teams, including Sales Support, Sales Engineering, Operations, and Quality.
What You Will Experience in This Position
- Serve as the primary relationship owner and commercial point of contact for assigned accounts.
- Lead pricing and profitability strategies, including negotiating price adjustments, repricing initiatives, and defending Cass’s value proposition.
- Develop and execute strategic account plans with clear objectives, growth targets, and partnership initiatives.
- Conduct quarterly and annual business reviews with customers, presenting scorecards, KPIs, and value-add opportunities.
- Identify and pursue revenue growth opportunities within existing accounts.
- Negotiate and maintain customer agreements such as LTAs, MSAs, stocking programs, and raw material indexes.
- Orchestrate support across the account team, ensuring the Sales Support Administrator manages order-entry, forecasting, and portal activity in alignment with customer commitments.
- Partner with the Sales Engineer to translate technical requirements into manufacturing solutions, aligning pricing and operational feasibility with customer expectations.
- Facilitate collaboration among Sales Support, Sales Engineering, Operations, and Quality to ensure information flows smoothly and customer deadlines are consistently met.
- Monitor customer performance metrics and escalate risks or opportunities as appropriate.
- Provide professional, proactive communication with customers and internal stakeholders to maintain alignment and accountability.
- Host customer visits and tours, as well as coordinate visits to customer facilities to strengthen partnerships.- Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of account management, commercial, or customer-facing experience in manufacturing or contract machining.
- Demonstrated success in negotiating pricing, managing large revenue accounts, and protecting profitability.
- Strong attention to detail with proven ability to manage forecasts, pricing, and reporting at a strategic level.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to influence at all levels.
- Track record of holding customers and internal teams accountable for performance and commitments.
- Highly organized and responsive, with effective time-management skills.
- Proficiency in CRM, ERP, and Microsoft Office tools.
- Experience in contract manufacturing or precision machining.
- Proven success managing large OEM partnerships and long-term customer agreements.
- Technical competency, including the ability to read, interpret, and understand engineering drawings, blueprints, and related technical documentation.

Cass’s pay scale is based on the expected range of total target cash pay for this job and the employee’s work location. Total target cash is comprised of an employee’s base salary and sales incentive target opportunity, when annual sales goals are achieved.
Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.
If annual sales performance exceeds annual sales goals, the total target cash received may exceed the pay scale maximum reflected below.
$95,000- $120,000 base + Variable compensation including commissions and bonuses
