Junior Systems Administrator / Junior Software Engineer / Computer Operations Specialist I
Easton Utilities is currently accepting applications for one open position in our Information Technology Department. The selected candidate may be placed in one of the following roles depending on qualifications, experience, and departmental needs:JUNIOR SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
Hiring Range: $33.12/hr. to $38.96/hr.
JOB OBJECTIVE: Ensure Easton Utilities’ end users have adequate PC hardware and software systems in order to complete their responsibilities in the most productive manner. Provide technical and administrative support for Easton Utilities’ clients. This includes software training and support, hardware and software installations, system interaction, printer maintenance and troubleshooting. Provide on-call software assistance to computer users. This is a full-time, exempt position.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
•Must have well developed analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
•Must be able to work under continual deadlines and maintain exceptional attention to details.
•Must possess working knowledge of Microsoft software and operating systems.
•Some after normal business hours work is required.
•Must have a valid driver’s license.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Four-year degree in Computer Science or related field or Computer Technical School diploma.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift D/P hardware components weighing up to 50 pounds.
MAJOR JOB FUNCTIONS:
•Research and evaluate software and new technology continuously.
•Assist in providing computer/network support relating to software and hardware problems reported by users.
•Schedule and ensure complete installation of PCs, software and software upgrades, and resolve related problems.
•Establish, schedule and conduct training programs for PC users.
•Add/maintain users on the network, assign application access, and ensure network security.
•Perform adjustments and maintenance to IT infrastructure via Active Directory, telephony solutions, security access, security camara and other IT systems.
•Maintain and support virtual environments and infrastructure.
•Participate in IT team meetings, providing input and suggestions.
•Assist in gathering bid prices on computer equipment and supplies.
•Monitor application licenses to ensure compliance.
•Maintain accurate records of time, money and materials expended in the repair and maintenance of computers.
•Perform specification and purchasing of new IT equipment and supplies as requested.
•Regular, reliable attendance is a requirement of this job.
