ROLE
The Junior Accountant is responsible for managing the accounts payable and receivable functions as well as assisting the Finance team with other duties as assigned.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
•Manage general accounting functions, which include accounts receivables and payables.
•Inputting suppliers' invoices and matching to purchase receipts.
•Issue cheques for customers' refunds.
•Deposit incoming customers' cheques
•Writing business correspondence to suppliers and customers.
•Review accounts receivables cycle, code, enter invoices daily and reconcile accounts.
•Assist in providing timely information and documentation during audit process.
•Preparation of ad-hoc reports
•Special projects as assigned by the Finance Manager
•Any and all other duties as assigned to meet Company objectives
REQUIREMENTS
•Must have College Diploma or University Degree in Business Administration or Accounting; or minimum 3 years' experience in a similar position.
•Previous experience with Microsoft Dynamic GP and Navision is an asset.
•Computer literacy with Microsoft Office Suite. Must have advanced Excel skills.
•Knowledge and practical experience of full accounting cycle.
•Experience with small entity reporting objectives and auditing requirements.
•Strong analytical skills with an ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and customers.
•Diligence when maintaining audit trails.
•Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
•Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures.
•Highly motivated, self-starter with the ability to meet required timeframes.
•Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
•Able to work in a team environment and in a high stress, fast paced environment, and produce quality work under tight deadlines.
WORKING CONDITIONS
•Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
•Lifting or moving up to 10lbs may be required.
