As a Journeyperson Machinist, you will play a critical role in fabricating, machining, and repairing attachments and parts for our equipment and plant. Working under the direction of the Supervisor, Shop Services, you will set up and operate machinery, interpret blueprints, and ensure that all work meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Operate various manual and automatic equipment to machine parts for production.
- Fabricate components directly from blueprints, plans, and sketches
- Inspect and maintain shop tools and equipment, ensuring they are in top working condition.
- Perform repairs on company vehicles, equipment, and small tools as required.
- Assist with the installation of fabricated parts in plant operations.
- Utilize digital devices (tablets and smartphones) for recording data,
- Complete required courses in defensive driving and first aid and be prepared to render first aid when needed.
- Operating a plasma table and counterbore equipment is considered an asset.
- Grade 12 diploma or G.E.D.
- Journeyperson Machinist Certificate from a recognized Apprenticeship Program
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a qualified Journeyperson Machinist.
- Experience setting up and operating CNC Machine
- Valid Alberta Class ‘5’ driver’s license.
- Proficiency with digital tools, including tablets and smartphones, for data recording and remote collaboration.
- Forklift certification is an asset.
