The Opportunity
Our team is growing, and we are looking for a motivated and experienced Journeyperson Electrician to join and help lead our dynamic solar installation team. This is a full-time position in Saskatoon and in the surrounding areas. This role combines hands-on electrical work with leadership responsibilities, offering growth opportunities in Saskatchewan’s rapidly expanding renewable energy sector. Required Qualifications
•Red seal journeyperson electrician in Canada (minimum 2 years).
•Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a residential construction electrician.
•Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, circuits, and electrical components.
•Knowledge of renewable energy would complement applicants.
•Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, diagrams, and technical specifications.
•Strong leadership and communication skills to motivate and manage a team effectively.
•Comfortable working at heights and on roofs (previous roofing experience is a strong asset).
•Physical ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, materials, and tools (up to 50 lbs).
•Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and travel out of town as needed.
•Must hold a valid driver's license and be comfortable with driving a trailer.
•Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset and excellent problem-solving skills.
•Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Responsibilities
•Assemble, install, test, and maintain solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, modules and support systems, electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
•Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine the layout of electrical equipment installations.
•Lead and execute AC & DC electrical work for solar installations, including basic wiring such as solar disconnects and installing breakers.
•Perform final grid interconnection of solar systems, including service panel upgrades, utility meter setups, and sub-panel installations.
•Support, mentor, and train junior electricians or apprentices on-site.
•Review installation plans with team members and ensure safe, efficient installation practices.
•Conduct project evaluations to ensure compliance with construction standards, building codes and electrical standards.
•Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance activities, and inspection reports.
•Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
