This full-time position reports to a Fleet Services Manager and is located at the Operations Center, 8600 NE 117th Avenue, Vancouver, WA 98662.
The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 3:00pm to 11:00pm.
Journeyman Mechanic experienced in working on heavy equipment. Complete knowledge of construction and repair of hydraulic systems. Familiarity with electric systems on lift equipment. Must have acceptable qualifications as arc and acetylene welder, be familiar with electronic engine analyzer, and be able to check and repair all automotive electrical systems (must have successfully passed the test given through Clark College for certification of both welding and use of engine analyzer or equivalent training, and be able to prove competency in these two areas). Prefer minimum of five years’ experience with satisfactory references. Ability to read, legibly write, and converse in the English language. Must have a current driver’s license. Must have and maintain a Commercial driver’s license.

Employees are enrolled in Washington State PERS and may enroll in deferred compensation plans. Employees will also receive eight hours of vacation leave and sick leave every month and twelve paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
Clark Public Utilities’ salary ranges are market based and established annually. With full competency in the role and satisfactory performance the target is midpoint within the established range.
*All crew members shall be paid a shift premium of 5% over and above their classification rates as agreed to in the collective bargaining agreement.
