The salary range(s) represents our good faith estimate for the role at this time. While we strive to provide competitive and transparent compensation, there may be circumstances where an offer is above or outside of the listed range. - Interregional Strategist II – salary range - $ 68,600 - $ 85,750
- Interregional Strategist I - salary range - $ 55,800 - $ 68,350

Interregional StrategistSouthwest Power Pool (SPP) is seeking a proactive and highly motivated Interregional Strategist to coordinate all interregional processes and activities required under SPP’s seams agreements. In this dynamic role, you'll serve as a key liaison among internal departments, SPP members, neighboring transmission operators, regulators, and other external stakeholders, ensuring the fulfillment of SPP’s obligations in joint coordinated operations and transmission system planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate interregional processes under SPP’s seams agreements, including meetings, analysis, and documentation.
- Serve as a point of contact for internal teams, members, neighbors, stakeholders, and regulators.
- Support negotiations of new and modified seams agreements and related tariff language.
- Collect and analyze input from stakeholders (e.g., Seams Advisory Group) and coordinate with subject matter experts.
- Facilitate engineering analysis for joint coordinated system planning and third-party impact assessments.
- Maintain compliance tracking and recommend improvements to seams-related processes.
- Prepare meeting materials and serve as staff secretary for assigned committees or task forces.
- Maintain transparency by updating the Interregional Relations webpage.
- Perform special assignments and support strategic initiatives as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline; OR Three (3) years of relevant job-related experience
- Interregional Strategist II - Two (2) Years of relevant job-related experience (in excess of educational requirements above)
- Interregional Strategist I - No additional experience required if educational requirements are met
- Exhibit flexibility and the ability to function with constantly changing and multiple priorities
- Good organizational skills
- Be highly motivated and self-driven to perform
- Understanding of and compliance with SPP Policies and Procedures
- Experience with public speaking or presenting to diverse groups
- Experience in the electric utility industry, database management systems, data analysis and ad hoc report writing
- Experience in analyzing and evaluating electric industry policies, trends, and power system behavior
- Experience in contract negotiation in a business environment
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines
Position Type, Location, and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work week are Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Working extended hours may be required.
Travel Requirement
This position requires minimal travel (approximately 0-15%)
